Even iets anders! Wat veel mensen niet weten, is dat ik geboren en opgegroeid ben in Nederland, en pas sinds 2003 in Zuid Afrika woon. En terwijl dit nu echt “thuis” is, spreek ik nog wel Nederlands op een dagelijks basis, wat handig is wanneer ik Nederlandse klanten krijg – zoals de Sjerps familie!
Deze prachtige familie was hier in Zuid Afrika op vakantie om het 25-jarige huwelijks herdenking te vieren van de ouders, en de kinderen kwamen lekker mee dus om dank je wel te zeggen aan hun ouders, hebben Kim en Dian deze fotoshoot geregeld.
Het weer was echt typisch Kaapstad – alle seizoenen in een dag, maar nog geen 5 minuten nadat we klaar waren begon het echt te stormen gewoon! Maar dit keerde ze niet, ook niet toen ik ze vroeg om door de lagoon heen te lopen naar een stiller stukje strand – alles voor de foto toch?
Maar ik vond het superleuk om deze herinneringen voor ze vast te leggen – Sjerps familie, jullie waren tops!
Something a bit different! What most people don’t know is that I was born and raised in the Netherlands, and while I’ve been living in South Africa since 2003, I still speak Dutch on a daily basis – which came in super handy for the Sjerps family!
This gorgeous family visited South Africa to celebrate the 25th anniversary for the parents, and because the kids joined in, they really wanted to say “thank you” in a special way so they organized this shoot!
In true Cape Town fashion, the weather had all 4 seasons in one day, but nothing could stop this family – not even when I had them wade through the icy water of the Atlantic ocean to get to a nicer stretch of beach – all for the gram baby!
But capturing this family was so much fun and so special to me – especially as they live so close to my hometown! Being able to provide these keepsakes for them was an honor and privilege!
